The International Labour Organization (ILO) has existed for 100 years, making it one of the UN’s oldest specialized agencies. Its headquarters are in Geneva. The ILO’s main objectives include promoting humane working conditions, social protection and strengthening social dialogue. It also aims to set and implement international labour and social standards. In doing so, the organization ensures that representatives of employees, employers and governments are all given an equal voice. This tripartite structure is characteristic of the ILO. The organization is celebrating its 100th anniversary with seven "Centenary Initiatives”, all of which focus on the future of work. A number of regional, national and international events are also planned. These will culminate in the 108th International Labour Conference, which will be held in July 2019. The special stamp designed by Andreas Rupp highlights the organization’s tripartite structure. The hands of government representatives, workers and employers intertwine like cogs, a homage to the impact of industry on the organization’s history.
